We are not so sure anymore that Kaiser Permanente wasn’t responsible for the original hacking that brought us back to update the website. We didn’t initially think so because of the way the hackers got in, and we do know how. Most hacking is random exploitation of vulnerabilities, so the first one was on us, but we did actually catch people in the employ of Kaiser in the act of scraping and attempted hacking in the last couple of weeks. You can read about it in a comment thread on this Facebook post.
Now we know they have done it to other websites that are critical of Kaiser. We used to think those claims were a misunderstanding of how hacking occurs, but these were very targeted attacks. Not random hacking and scraping at all, although they do use the same exact tactics as their brethren in cyber crime, including employing evasive measures to bypass site security. Their purpose is twofold: 1) To spy on critics; and 2) To negatively affect the search engine rankings of critical websites.
Unfortunately it doesn’t stop there. They are also actively harassing other critics they have hacked, on an ongoing basis. We didn’t believe that either until we saw for ourselves just how unscrupulous these people are. We are still hoping it isn’t someone at Kaiser in charge of these illicit activities, but rather rogue bad actors they have hired to manage KP’s online reputation. However, we cannot exonerate Kaiser. We are not affiliated with these other critics, but we have reached out to them to offer suggestions on how to eradicate the malicious activity. What Kaiser and the hackers won’t know is exactly what kind of evidence we are collecting along the way, so we want to make a strong suggestion that they leave all critics alone, and we mean completely.
We think there is a need to turn this Kaiser Black Ops thing into a new series, because there are many other dastardly deeds that need to see the light of day. As always, Kaiser has the option to cut off the source of our material by putting a stop to the abusive behavior before we have a chance to tell the world about it. We can only call it like we see it.
They are giving themselves away further by the way they are trying to access this post, and validating suspicions in the process. If you want to know what we’re talking about why don’t you just pull up your browser and come on in? What? Got something to hide?
Kaiserthrive.org isn’t the only one hacked with intent to destroy…
The same damage was done to kaiserpapers.org
Hi,
I know for a fact they have a hacker in their employ. When I was with my former employer said individual who now works for Kaiser in their Telephony division used to spoof phone numbers because I’d be posting shit on my website about him and my ex.
One of the calls he made was a spoof to our security dept, spoofing a 911 call from our dept. The other was a spoof to my ex’s first ex spoofing my work number. I called the Long Beach Polic, and they said they couldn’t do nothing about it. If you want the person’s name I’ll gladly give you it.
This activity is a group effort. It seems obvious the scraping is coming from more than one person or entity. They may not all be aware of what the others are doing and some are more benign than others. That might be why I’m still seeing some evidence of blocked attempts, but we’re not under active attack anymore. They are still snooping around and there’s no way to stop them from doing that. The only thing we need to know about the individuals responsible is that they are acting on behalf of KP, and that is more than obvious from the patterns we have observed as a whole. Connecting the dots is our thing.
As a past KP patient who has had their life RUINED by extremely poor care, refusal of care, horrible post-op care, poorly performed surgical procedures and actually not being told I had a progressive cancer that had spread to another part of my body, when they had actual proof that it had, is proof enough that Kaiser does not care about its patients. They care about the money. They care about appearances. Their ‘care’ is nonexistent. They police themselves. That tells you all you need to know.
Now we are going to have to spend some money to undo the effects of Kaiser’s negative SEO campaign against this website. Loss of money = damages.
Just some evidence of Kaiser’s negative SEO campaign against our website. Negative SEO is a form of dirty trickery in search engine optimization, whereby competitors attempt to destroy the credibility of a website so it will rank lower in search engines . As you can see our penalty risk is VERY HIGH, and that’s due to an unusually high number of spammy links back to our site. Absolutely no one would have a reason to hire someone to do this except Kaiser. The first time was in 2005, which was less than a year after we started, and they are still up to no good. The top link text tells you which article they really don’t want you to see (and there are plenty more). It originally appeared in AdPulp about our anti-brand campaign, and it is titled “Bob Dylan Shills for the Kaiser, and Opposition Mounts.” It is particularly embarrassing to KP.
